The Traverse City Track Club started in 1962 with a small group of running enthusiasts coming together each week to see how fast and far they could run. Over 50 years later, this 501c3 non-profit organization has grown into northern Michigan’s largest and oldest running club, with its membership roster currently reaching 700. Centered in the five county area of the Grand Traverse region of the northern lower peninsula of Michigan, the Traverse City Track Club prides itself in hosting premier running events and programs, including the annual Bayshore Marathon, Half Marathon, and 10K Events each May since 1983. The Bayshore event has enabled the Traverse City Track Club to provide financial support in the form of grants, scholarships, and work group gifts. This amount has reached over $1.6 million to date. All of this results from our mission:

The Traverse City Track Club promotes and encourages health, fitness, fellowship, community service, family recreation and competition via running and walking. We welcome all ages and abilities.
